Can you name one Japanese actress?

For this reason Hollywood cast Chinese actresses for the major roles in Memoirs of a Geisha Fabulous, beautiful actresses.
But.
Does it matter that the movie is based on a book set in Japan?
Are there no Japanese actresses who speak enough english to play the roles in Hollywood movies?
This CNN story is interesting. It goes to show that asian actresses aren't enough. Could an all Japanese cast have made the same amount of money this film full of Chinese stars will? That's a risk Hollywood wasn't willing to take.
